The Mission statement for the Port Orford Ocean Resource Team To engage Port Orford fishers and other community members in developing and implementing a strategic plan and framework that
ensures the long-term sustainability of the Port Orford reef ecosystem and social system dependent on it.

The Goals of the Port Orford Ocean Resource Team are

1. Develop a strategic plan.
2. Provide a consensus voice and legitimate representation from Port Orford to other coastal decision-makers.
3. Create a direct connection between local stock abundance and local harvest rates.
4. Assess and reduce (or eliminate) by-catch and habitat degradation.
5. Market a high quality, high value product to consumers.
6. Ensure adequate enforcement of Port Orford ocean regulations.

that utilizes the best science and local experiential knowledge for the community to make local fishery management decisions that: 1. sustain and improve the habitat or population base of fish
2. provide high quality, high value sea food products to consumers
3. support the economic viability of the Port Orford community

The Port Orford Ocean Resource Team in an Oregon 501 (Orforca)(3) not-for-profit Corporation
and can accept donations which are tax deductible to the giver.
